Want 2 Work Advisers Clare Cooze and Lucy Fitzpatrick have received a warm welcome from the residents of Briton Ferry and are looking forward to working in partnership with the Briton Ferry Communities First team.
A joint initiative between the Welsh Assembly Government and Jobcentre Plus, Want2Work is part funded by the European Social Fund. The project is unique in Wales and after being successfully piloted in Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Merthyr, Neath-Port Talbot, Aberystwyth and Rhyl, the project is now operating in over 15 local authority wards across Wales including Briton Ferry East and West. |

The new season starts with a Simultaneous Display at the Crow's Nest on Thursday, 28th August. Carl Davies, the talented seventeen -year-old takes on all-comers in our traditional curtain raiser at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, 9th September the West Wales Chess League hold their Lightning Tournament at the same time and place. Throughout the season our two teams compete with other West Wales Clubs in Major and Minor League competitions. New members are always welcome to come along to the Briton Ferry Constitutional Club, Graig road every Thursday evening and to the Public Library on Saturday mornings. |
