Briton Ferry Photographic Club
History of the Club

Photograph of Briton FerryThis club was developed following a Photoshop course with Glamorgan University in 2006. Courses took place at Briton Ferry every Wednesday in a mobile unit alongside the Boys and Girls Club. Over the past two years Briton Ferry Communities First have established a photographic course at the Community House where club members developed their skills at the Cyberzone computer centre.



Aims and Objectives

The Photographic Club`s 2009/2010 project is creating a community calendar of pictures of Briton Ferry and the surrounding areas, the calendar will be available for sale this Autumn ready for Christmas and New Year.
The club is a non profit organisation and all   proceeds generated are returned to the Photographic Club to cover for future training and projects at the Cyberzone and continue its development and work in the community.

· Photoshop and G.I.M.P Courses
· Digital Camera Courses
· Digital Stock Photos of Briton Ferry
· Creating Digital Archives
· Printing Services
· Brochure Design 

Current and Future Courses

The Photographic LabWe are adaptable to teach what YOU WANT to learn.  There are NO RIGID timescales or set works that need to be done.  This is all in a fun, relaxed environment.  You will have the time & skills to turn YOUR photographs into a WORK OF ART with the following courses:

Photoshop & GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
Photo Restoration
Photo Enhancement
How to download G.I.M.P. safely (this is a free program) 

With your help and participation we could be able to run the following courses, but this is up to YOU!!  We are adaptable to teach what you would like to learn.

Beginners’ classes—How does a computer and camera work together ?
Intermediate courses— Downloading and using applications
Advanced courses—Manipulating pictures for movie making, 3D Design.
